Discover Quick and Fun Professional Learning Opportunities!

Looking for a quick and engaging Professional Learning (PL) opportunity to complete during a small window of time, like your lunch or planning time?

FDLRS/Springs is excited to introduce our Pocket PL offerings—so small they can fit in your pocket!

What is Pocket PL?

Pocket PL provides asynchronous training options that are easy to access and complete. Here’s how it works:

  1. Click Start Learning to access the professional learning content.
  2. Complete the course in one session at your convenience.
  3. Receive a certificate of completion once you finish the professional learning.

Important Note

Before starting Pocket PL, we highly encourage you to check with your district to see if they will honor and reward you with points after completion.

FEL Standard Five

Cultivating a Caring, Rigorous, and Supportive Learning Environment: This five-point leadership course covers Standard Five of the FELS and focuses on implementing a school-wide UDL initiative that focuses on removing barriers for ALL students.

Universal Tools

This three-point professional learning opportunity will instruct participants on the use of accessibility tools for reading and writing. Participants will see live videos that demonstrate the uses of Snap&Read and Co:Writer Google extensions. It is important to note that not all districts have access to these tools. Please consult with your district to confirm these tools are available to your students before beginning the learning opportunity. 
 

FEL Standard Eight

Meaningful Parent, Family & Community Engagement: This three-point leadership course covers Standard Eight of the FELS and focuses on how administrators can create a positive school culture and environment that welcomes family engagement.

Sensory Island

This six-point professional learning opportunity will take participants through the seven sensory systems and the function of each system. Participants will examine the terminology associated with each sensory system and discover ways each system can be observed in students to identify strategies in addressing sensory needs and challenges.
